Faculty of Science and Horticulture

twitter iconfacebook iconIf science fuels your fire, you’ll find your discipline in the Faculty of Science and Horticulture, where thought meets action. Delivered in a theory-plus-applied-learning approach by academics dedicated to their fields, traditional and applied undergraduate programs include biology, chemistry, environmental protection, mathematics, computer-aided design and drafting, physics, agriculture, horticulture, and brewing and brewery operations—the first program of its kind in British Columbia with a 4,000-square-foot lab where students master both craft and science.

You’ll take full advantage of one-on-one learning and small-group classes 1/10 the size of first-year lecture classes at larger research-oriented universities. The department also offers flexibility, with courses at the Cloverdale, Langley, Richmond, and Surrey campuses, and ample opportunities for hands-on learning and side-by-side project work with top researchers. We are also now offering several new degree programs, including a minor in Medicinal Chemistry. A state-of-the-art $20 million renovation of our Surrey campus science labs means more capacity for innovation, and more applied research and experiential education choices.
